Trust Sweet Iron Elliptical Dee - 12mm
Trust Sweet Iron Elliptical Dee - 12mm
Description
This jaw piece has a D-shape. The D-rings ensure that the mouthpiece lies calmly and stably in the mouth. The pressure of the D against the cheek makes steering easier because the head is automatically pushed in the right direction. This makes the bit suitable for young horses, for example. Due to the shape of this jaw piece, it is less easy to pull the bit through the mouth.
The double-broken bit has two pivot points, is shaped more to the mouth, and is a bit looser in the mouth. This bit works on the tongue, the layers, and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws, the hinge points can then press on the layers, which can cause wounds. Compared to a single broken bit, this bit has more effect on the tongue. A double-jointed mouthpiece is a standard mouthpiece.
The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse's saliva production naturally. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-gray. Sweet surface rust helps to achieve better bite acceptance. This occurs when sweet iron and air humidity meet. Even in the phases of prolonged non-use, a brownish layer of rust can form. To clean just wipe the bit with a damp cloth.
